Walking is great exercise that people can enjoy at all ages, in all seasons, at whatever pace matches their fitness level. As with any other exercise program, you will be more successful when you have a plan, set goals, and receive support and recognition for your achievements and track your progress because "tracking keeps you on track".

Walk Franklin County...for the health of it! is a FREE program through which you measure and record your progress and receive rewards for reaching your goals. By using a pedometer to count your steps each day - from the time you get up until you go to sleep - you can easily determine how active you are right now, and then map out a plan for increasing your activity over time. You can also use the conversion chart (go to log steps) and convert other activities (swimming, biking, strength training etc.) to steps and add those "steps" to your daily total.
